Arecibo Summer Student Program for 1997

The Observatory is hosting nine students from universities in Puerto Rico and the mainland for ten weeks of research and study. One student is designing an interactive Web site for the new Visitor Center, several engineering students are trying to get the Ionosonde working, another is studying the magnetic and RFI environment of the Observatory and the rest are working on research projects in radio astronomy and atmospheric physics.
The 1997 NAIC summer students are: Francisco Acevedo (Embry-Riddle), Albin Alonso Rosario (UPR - Mayaguez), Amanda Birmingham (Amherst), Brent Grime (Pennsylvania State), Chris Hardin (Amherst), Zoe Leinhardt (Carleton), Melissa Nysewander (Agnes Scott), Anil Seth (Wesleyan), and Arturo Yanez Navarrete (UPR - Mayaguez).
